About James Falduti
James Falduti, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who earned his Master’s in Social Work from the State University of New York, Albany. He also holds a Master’s in Divinity from the Washington Theological Union, in Maryland.
Jim worked for over 14 years in a mental health clinic in New York state where he treated adults with a variety of diagnoses through individual, couples and group therapy. He has been a clinical supervisor and has been teaching clinical social work to graduate students for over 10 years. Prior to practicing psychotherapy, Jim ministered as a Catholic priest in the Franciscan Order for over 17 years in a variety of settings including: parishes, colleges, retreat centers, hospitals and prisons.
These experiences have taught Jim how to apply empathic listening to obtain a thorough assessment, to build trust, and to enhance motivation. His therapeutic approaches are client-centered and range from brief solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral techniques to more psychodynamic approaches that incorporate attachment theory and ego psychology. In addition, Jim is comfortable integrating a client’s spirituality, to whatever extent he or she sees fit, into the healing process.
