What is Applied Behavior Analysis?
Available for children ages 3-12
Applied Behavior Analysis is a form of treatment that is based on the science of learning and behavior. Applied Behavior Analysis can increase communication skills, improve attention, focus, social skills, memory and academics, and decrease problem behaviors.
At Elite DNA, we use proven evidence-based techniques and a tailored approach to care that allows us to provide unique support for each individual. Through these techniques we work to reinforce positive behaviors and create a significant improvement in human behavior.
When implemented as an early intervention technique, Applied Behavior Analysis can lead to better communication, improved attention, focus and social skills for children.
How does Applied Behavior Analysis work?
Initially, we will perform an evaluation so we can assess what you’re experiencing and determine the optimal treatment plan. Every client is different and requires a unique approach, so this is an important step in the process. Our therapists will recommend how often you will return for treatment. Techniques that may be implemented include positive reinforcement, modeling (where we demonstrate desired behaviors), or picture exchange (where we use pictures to help individuals identify feelings and behaviors).
Can Applied Behavior Analysis help me?
It can. Signs your child or family member may be ready for Applied Behavior Analysis therapy include being unable to perform self-care tasks, has challenges in classroom or work settings, difficulty with transitioning from one setting to another or changes in routine, or the inability to identify or communicate emotions.
What can I expect from Applied Behavior Analysis?
Your first appointment will be an evaluation, and we’ll develop a treatment plan from there. Our treatment is adaptive to meet the needs of each unique individual and will be modified as your needs change. We address situations that are like real life, teaching coping, communication, daily living and social skills that will address challenges in behavior.
