About Wendy Atkins
I am a compassionate and dedicated mental health therapist who believes in meeting clients where they are and creating a safe, supportive space for healing and growth. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida State University and am a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern in the state of Florida.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals and families through crisis, emotional distress, and major life transitions. Before joining Elite DNA, I worked as the Lead Therapist in a residential treatment program for adolescents and as a clinical social worker in a Baker Act–designated psychiatric facility serving adolescents, adults, and older adults. These roles strengthened my ability to provide thoughtful, trauma-informed care in high-acuity environments while remaining grounded, compassionate, and client-focused.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing from evidence-based practices, family systems work, and trauma-informed care. I focus on helping clients develop emotional regulation skills, increase self-awareness, and build resilience in a way that feels empowering and sustainable.
I am deeply committed to ethical practice and fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and understanding. My goal is to help clients build emotional regulation skills, strengthen resilience, and move toward lasting wellness.
