About Temeka Taylor Buggs

Dr. Temeka Buggs, DNP, PMHNP‑BC, FNP‑C, is a native of Blakely, Georgia, and brings more than 20 years of diverse nursing experience to her practice. Her clinical background includes geriatrics, home health, medical‑surgical nursing, psychiatric and mental health care, and substance‑abuse treatment. She is licensed as a nurse practitioner in both Alabama and Georgia and is an active member of the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Buggs began her nursing career by earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. She continued her education at Albany State University, completing both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She later earned a post‑graduate certificate in Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Buggs is actively involved in community service and women’s empowerment initiatives. She serves as a mentor in the “Ladybugs” mentoring program and participates in the B.E.TT.E.R. Women empowerment group. She is also engaged in faith‑based community activities through her local ministry.

Dr. Buggs is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence‑based care and to advancing mental health and wellness within the communities she serves.
