About Matthew Murrell
I believe therapy is best designed as a collaborative approach between therapist and client where the goal is a better life status for the client. This takes many shapes and sizes, so each treatment plan and set of goals are unique for each client. My approach to treatment involves cooperation and direction where needed, though I find therapy is most beneficial for clients who are open with discussing their experiences. I use aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), reality therapy (RT), and rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) among other approaches that have been shown to be effective at reducing life dissatisfaction and helping to build/restore satisfying relationships. I help individuals, families, and couples to identify what issues they may be experiencing, express what they’re feeling within a safe environment, and start to work on a plan to address any issues or dysfunctions they are experiencing to have a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
