About Kathleen Rodriguez

My name is Kathleen Rodriguez, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I graduated with my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2014. I’ve provided a wide range of counseling working with children and adults in diverse communities and cultures. I use a variety of theoretical approaches including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), person-centered, trauma focus, gender identity, couples counseling, play therapy, motivational interviewing and more. I strive to provide empathy, support and guidance to people who struggle with managing their mental health needs. My dedication and motivation to help others in need is my driving force behind choosing this career path for myself.

I have served children and families in outpatient capacity struggling with ADHD, Autism, anxiety, divorce, trauma and behavioral problems. In addition, I have experiencing helping children with specific trauma, such as physical abuse and separation from family of origin. Interventions I have used with my younger clients are play therapy, art therapy and behavioral therapy.

I provide a non-judgmental and safe environment, and I am fluent in English and Spanish. My dedication and motivation is to help others with their mental health needs and give them the hope that anything is possible.

I also provide couples and family therapy. Interventions I use to help couples strengthen their relationships fall into in three primary areas: friendship, conflict management, and communication. I pride myself in keeping families together whenever possible in their most vulnerable emotional and mental state.
