About Katherine Thornton
Katherine Thornton, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in the nursing field. Specializing in the mental health care of children, adolescents, and adults from ages 5 to 65, I provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, medication management, and supportive therapy. Some of the areas I specialize in include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, LGBTQ+, and others—often alongside co-occurring medical or developmental challenges.
My background in Pediatric/Adolescence, Medical and psychiatric care informs a compassionate and patient-centered approach. I am dedicated to creating a safe and non-judgmental space for patients and families to explore their mental health concerns. By partnering with individuals and families, I develop personalized treatment plans that empower patients to achieve stability and wellness. I believe that everyone deserves compassionate, personalized care.
Outside of their clinical practice, I enjoys spending quality time with my family, trying new restaurants, camping, and exploring the outdoors. This personal appreciation for nature and family life reinforces my holistic approach to my patient’s well-being. I also find relaxation and entertainment in watching good shows and caring for all of my animals. It is an honor to walk alongside individuals and families as they rediscover balance and well-being.
