About Katherine Brown

Katherine is a Resident in Counseling with a Master’s of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, for her bachelor’s degree in psychology and attended graduate school at Florida Gulf Coast University in Southwest Florida. Katherine has experience working in a variety of settings including inpatient services, private practice, and community mental health. Katherine enjoys helping others overcome past traumas and a variety of mental health concerns so that her clients can reach their fullest potential. Katherine has experience working with children and adolescents using play therapy techniques, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based practices. She has also worked with young adults and adults who are facing an array of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, and more. Katherine uses a warm, nonjudgemental, and person-centered approach to create a safe and trusting therapeutic environment for her clients. Her treatment approach integrates various evidence-based techniques tailored to each of her individual client’s needs.
