About Julie Peterson

Mental health is an integral part of our overall health. I like to take the time to develop a plan to help patients improve their mental well-being and live their best life. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I strive to help people who are struggling with mental health issues. I enjoy finding answers to help all of my patients, and I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, sleep disorders, stress, and more.

With more than 20 years of diverse experience in nursing, I have honed my skills in multiple specialties, starting my career at a local hospital. After earning my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), I expanded my expertise as a Family Nurse Practitioner, working in gastroenterology, digestive diseases, interventional radiology, and internal medicine. As my passion for mental health intensified, I felt compelled to do more. I pursued a Post-Masters Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at Purdue University Global, equipping myself to better assist patients navigating the complexities of a modern lifestyle.

I will use the best evidence-based practice available and collaborate with other specialists at Elite DNA Behavioral Health, as well as community resources, to guide patients to achieve their best outcomes.
