About Faith Corson
Throughout my college journey, I experienced many ups and downs that shaped who I am today. When I first started school, I was focused on getting my degree and moving forward, but life had other plans. Balancing classes, work, and my personal life became overwhelming at times, and I struggled with my mental health in ways I didn’t expect. There were moments when I had to pause my education to take care of myself, and even though it felt discouraging, those breaks ended up being some of the most important parts of my growth. During this time, I learned how to recognize my own needs, how to ask for help, and how to rebuild my confidence. My mental health struggles taught me resilience and helped me understand what it truly means to support someone through difficult moments. These experiences are a big part of why I chose to pursue clinical psychology. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, to feel stuck, and to work your way back toward stability, and I want to help others do the same.
As I continued my education, I discovered that I have a natural ability to connect with people. Whether in class, at work, or in everyday conversations, I’ve always been someone others feel comfortable opening up to. I listen without judgment, I try to understand where people are coming from, and I genuinely care about their well‑being. These interpersonal skills have helped me build meaningful relationships and have strengthened my desire to work in the mental health field. Now, as a graduate student in clinical psychology, I bring together my college experiences, my personal challenges, and my strengths in connecting with others. My journey hasn’t been perfect, but it has made me more compassionate, more aware, and more determined to help individuals navigate their own struggles. Everything I’ve been through has shaped me into someone who wants to make a difference — one conversation, one connection, and one person at a time.
