About Anthony Cortez

Anthony Cortez, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified pediatric, adult, and geriatric Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a true passion for helping others to experience healing and relief from their mental health challenges. Embracing a holistic client-centered approach, Anthony works with deep care, compassion, and a real body-mind-spirit treatment philosophy that allows clients to discover what treatments are the best fit for their needs. He allows his clients to explore their mental health needs in a warm, open-minded, and compassionate atmosphere. It is their choice whether or not to go with medication, counseling, holistic modalities, psychosocial modalities, or any combination of these approaches (and they are free to change approaches anytime).

Anthony has devoted over 20 years to the study, teaching, and practice of holistic modalities, has maintained a 2x/day meditation practice during this period, and has taught holistic mental health to students at the University of Florida (including the UF College of Medicine), and around the community. In addition to his expertise in holistic mental health, Anthony has a very strong clinical background from a 14 year nursing career spent at a high-acuity academic medical center and hospital, working in the ICU (including during the COVID-19 pandemic), PACU, Bone-Marrow Transplant Unit, and Home Care .

Together, Anthony and his clients will co-create a plan of care that everyone feels great about. Depending on client preference, this may contain any combination of medication, counseling, holistic modalities, psychosocial modalities, and other interventions that will transform their lives. This is what allows clients to travel the path to real mental-emotional health and wellness. Finding true healing, joy, meaning, and happiness in life is what Anthony loves to see in his clients as they work together. In a partnership of caring and compassion, anything is possible!
