About Alexa Pappas

Hi, my name is Alexa Pappas! I am a recent graduate from the University of Florida, where I earned my master’s and specialist’s degrees in Marriage and Family Counseling. I take a warm and client-centered approach to therapy, and believe that building a strong therapeutic alliance is the most important factor in facilitating change in a person’s life.

My counseling framework stems from person-centered and narrative orientations with purposeful integration of CBT, ACT, and DBT interventions. I have also received specialized training in CBT with exposure and response prevention to treat OCD and other anxiety disorders.

I work with clients across the lifespan, but I feel especially called to work with adolescents and young adults. I also embrace a systemic lens to my counseling, meaning that I am passionate about working with couples and families. I pride myself on meeting all my clients where they are and encourage collaboration and empowerment in the therapy space. I am so excited to begin working with you!
