Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported 8-week course designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion including the enhancement of emotional well-being and resilience. Weekly sessions are 3 hours long.
The course is designed to improve emotional well-being. Rapidly expanding research demonstrates that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional well-being, less anxiety, depression and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and satisfying personal relationships. And it’s easier than you think.
Program activities include meditation, short talks, experiential exercises, group discussion, and home practices. The goal is for participants to directly experience self-compassion and learn practices that evoke self-compassion in daily life.
All levels are welcome. It is being taught by Dr. Laura Baltodano of Andrew’s Anthem.
Tiffany Scott, LCSW, will be present for groups as additional support, as well as an emotional support dog.
There is an additional 4 hour retreat on a Saturday. The group is taught in person. Fees are based on insurance. This will be coordinated through Elite DNA. If insurance is not used, full fee can be paid. Sliding fee scale is available.
The courses begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be from April 13 to June 1 at Elite DNA Therapy Services, 4310 Metro Parkway, Suite 205, Fort Myers, FL 33916. LEARN MORE
