Yes. Elite DNA Trinity offers telehealth for your appointments. Just request that from your scheduler when you call us.

How do I get scheduled?

Call us directly and select the new patient prompt to reach the scheduling team. You’ll be greeted by a friendly New Patient Liaison that will help you get the right care.

Is psychotherapy the same as psychiatry?

Psychotherapy and psychiatry are not the same, though they both address mental health concerns. Psychotherapy, often called “talk therapy”, involves structured conversations between a trained mental health professional and a patient to help the individual understand and manage emotional, behavioral, or psychological issues. Psychiatry is a medical specialty that can include psychotherapy but primarily focuses on diagnosis and treatment using medical interventions, including medication. Depending on a patient’s needs, they might benefit from psychotherapy, psychiatry or both.

What is the difference between a psychiatric NP and a psychiatrist?

Both psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse practitioners provide psychiatric mental health services. Psychiatric nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses who first earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), become registered nurses (RNs), and then complete a graduate program-typically a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)-with a focus on psychiatric-mental health. The main difference between psychiatrists and psychiatric NPs stem from their background. Psychiatric NPS have a nursing background, which emphasizes holistic, patient-centered care. They are trained to consider not only the biological aspects of mental illness but also psychological, social, and environmental factors. Psychiatrists, being medical doctors, tend to focus more on the biological aspect of mental health.
