About Jason Avery
My objective is to work with people in a helping field. I use Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy to help you meet your goals.
I have 11 years’ experience in the mental health therapy space, supporting individuals as they become their best selves. The level of care is only as good as a the provider, and so I’m dedicated to being the best I can be and continue to learn and grow. I have worked with a diverse set of people and communities, and over the years had the opportunity to apply my skills with a broad spectrum of clients, from children who experienced abuse, to adults experiencing mental health issues.
My education spans a curriculum covering diagnosing, medication treatment, counseling theories, and internship and practicum. I have worked with diverse set of individuals including children, adolescents, adults, suicidal clients in crisis and inmates.
I mold my counseling technique based on the client’s specific needs. My personal philosophy is helping the human being heal, I’m not here to judge anyone.
I specialize in stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief/loss, and depression. I also have experience with substance use, relationship issues, family conflicts, eating disorders, parenting issues, anger management, self esteem, career challenges, bipolar disorder, compassion fatigue and ADHD.
