About Brooke Tominey
Hello, my name is Brooke Tominey and I am a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Florida state registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and an active member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University.
I have clinical experience working with client’s of all ages, but primarily I have had the most experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. For couples therapy, I am Level 1 Gottman and Prepare/Enrich certified. I also have experience caring for people who live with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, loss/grief, LGBTQ+ issues, and dual diagnosis. Additionally, I help clients with family and relationship conflicts, gender/sexuality concerns, self-esteem, coping skills, interpersonal skills and relationships, trauma, adjustment disorders, and much more.
It is my goal to create a compassionate, comfortable, nonjudgmental, and safe space for all of my clients who walk into my office. I try to adjust my style in order to address each client’s individual and specific needs. It has always been a passion of mine to help guide people to reach their full potential in their lives. It is difficult to make changes in our lives, but my goal is to encourage and empower all of my clients to make these positive changes over time. I like to use an eclectic style of therapeutic techniques such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, strength-based therapy, and various play therapy and trauma technique
